On a hot spring day in Athens, Georgia, a tragedy was averted. A man saved a dog locked in a hot car, he was a veteran and wasn't honored but arrested. Georgia law allows good Samaritans to break car windows to save babies locked in hot cars, but not our furry friends. It is as dangerous to leave a dog or cat in a hot car as it is to leave a child, even worse as our furry friends can not speak out. Please write to Georgia's lawmakers to make this important, lifesaving changes.
Take Action Against Tests on Animals for Cosmetics Ingredients! Currently in the U.S., tests on animals for cosmetics are not required by law. A new proposed law, the Personal Care Products Safety Act, could change that and make tests on animals for cosmetics ingredients mandatory-even though they're never been required before! Speak up for animals by contacting your legislators today and urging them to refuse to support the Personal Care Product Safety Act.
